An example of local popular culture is the obsession that many Alabamians have with college football in our region and that it has become more than just a game to many of these people. Another example of local popular culture is the popularity of fast food in Alabama as well. Before coming here I have never seen so many fast food places in my life. The last example of popular culture in Alabama is the popularity of country music.

"Because popular culture encourages little intimate contact with and knowledge of the physical world, our enviornmental perceptions can become quite distorted." Tell if the statement is true or false and support your reasoning by giving a local, regional or national enviornmental issue.

This statement is false becausee popular culture does not encourage little contact or knowledge of the physical world. For example, it is popular to believe that global warming is affecting the globe and if anything popular culture enhances our view of the physical in order to help us realize that we have to preserve and respect the physical world.
