Modern Migration
I recently moved from Syracuse, New York which is host to a Sudanese Refugee Center where people from the Sudan go since the country is in complete turmoil, especially in Darfur. Many of these refugees are being welcomed into our nation very kindly by their neighbors and these good people are willing to help with the transition into our American lifestyle by teaching them english and how to live (Mintz) . The push factor of the turmoil in this region is what led many to leave but also the pull factor of a new start in a free country such as America is what drew many Sudanese to come to America of all places. This migration of the Sudanese to spread from the Sudan to parts all over the world, including America was not a voluntary migration since it was either move or die. It was a forced migration. The War in Darfur has caused the country of Sudan to become unsafe for the people of an Islamic background in the country as well as those without that background. The War was initially started by these groups that claimed that the Sudanese government of oppressing non-Arabs and thus took up arms against the government and in response, the government has funded Islamic groups in Sudan with weapons and munitions in order to attack civilians that were non-Arabs and strike back against the non-Arab militias. Many innocent men, women, and children have lost their lives in the conflict since supplies have been cut off and many are simply murdered (Polgreen). This results in an America that will be expected to put these young children from Sudan through school, teach them english and so on. But America is an immigrant nation that was founded by people such as this so we should expect great things from these refugees. We can also hope that these refugees give a wake up call to the Sudanese government to handle their situation better.

What is a Developed Nation?
America, France, Germany, Japan and Canada are all considered "developed" nations. What makes them developed? The answer is in the fact that in countries like America, people arent squeaking by. Due to the production of food, the free-market society that we live in and the capitalistic society that we live in. It is very easy for almost everyone to become wealthy with enough hard work. In America there is so many opportunities for people with great ideas and improvements that there is a job for almost anyone to do. These ideas better society as a whole and they make America successful. What makes a country developed nowadays is whether the people residing in that country have an easy time providing for themselves and giving themselves money to spend on things that they don't "need". While in countries where it is tougher for the population to get a hold on their needs is what makes a country less developed. Less developed nations have higher birth rates in order to insure that more of their offspring will survive due to lack of medical care. While in America, good healthcare insures that 99.9% of kids will live a substantial amount of time and thus only one or two children is needed in order to insure that their children will survive. (previously known information)
Forced Population Control
China blamed its misfortunes in the late 1970's not to its failing government and economy, but they blamed the size of the population and decided to lower it by creating the most strict act of population control ever seen in the modern era since Nazi Germany. All unauthorized pregnancies were aborted. No women under 23 can have children. Stainless Steel IUD's were put inside women and were checked to make sure they didn't tamper with it and all people with 2 or more kids had to be sterilized (Zubrin).
Zubrin, Robert. "ZUBRIN: China’s Population-control Holocaust." The Washingtion Times. The Washington Times, 21 May 2012. Web. 02 Apr. 2013.
The governments of highly populated countries have the right to be able to restrict the amount of kids a couple can have but they shouldn't. If that certain family believes that they can provide for that child and give it everything it needs, why not? If a family is in absolutley no shape to afford another child then the family can decide on its own whether they want to have another child or not. And if a child is an "accident" that cannot be afforded then that is what adoption is for.

Human Rights

What are natural human rights?
Natural Human Rights are rights that are rights that every person should have for no other reason other than being a human being that was created in the image and likeness of God. The idea of Natural human rights was popularized in our American government by John Locke.
What is genocide? What is a modern example of genocide?
Genocide is when the government of one country knowingly and intentionally kills its own people. A modern example of this would be the conflict in Syria in which the government is supposedly using chemical weapons on its own people.
Who is the most susceptible to human rights violations? Give an example.
The people that are most susceptible to human rights violations are those who have governments that are not in the power of "the people" but are instead ruled in a communistic or dicatorial form of government in which power is held in the hands of the few and they have the power to exercise that power on a wim. These people are generally in 3rd world countries.
When will human rights violations cease to exist? and how?
Human rights violations will cease to exist when there are consequences for those countries that abuse their people. When there are known punishments in which the risk completely outweighs the reward is when they will cease to exist. We need to speak out as a people against injustices that are occuring now and will occur in the future.
