The amish people keep folk culture alive by living very modest and traditional lives. American democracy still prevails throughout centuries since freedom and liberty are our most traditional values. It is also tradtion in America for a man to propose to a woman in marriage and it has been for years and years.

In the world it has always been tradition for the positions of men to be as the provider and protector while women would take care of the home and children. Another example of folk culture in the world is all of the exotic foods that vary from region to region and ethnicity to ethnicity.
