Nature Culture

The direct relationship between the nature that is around a people and the people that act on the nature around them.
Enviornmental Determinism

All different kinds of people are molded by their different enviornments. For example, the Indians in the American rainforests were called lazy by the Spanish. This is because their food supply doesnt take much work to get and they don't need to worry about water since they are in a rainforest. Another example of this would be the fact that coastlands always have the best fishermen and the greatest seafarers.
Possibilism

The enviornment that people are in affects their lifestyle and culture but ultimatley it is up to the people living in that area to choose how they want to live. An example of this would be that the people of the city of Dubai and the rest of the Middle East have the same physical geography but the fact is that the people living in Dubai choose to have the greatest and most extravagant lifestyle. Another example of this is the fact that the people of Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley both live in fertile river valleys but they both choose to have completely different cultures.
Enviornmental Perception

The perception that people can choose how they want their enviornment to be based on the choices they make rather than the actual character of the land. Examples of this would be the Hoover Dam and the Panama Canal where people shape the landscape by making changes in order to better suit their lifestlye.
Humans As Modifiers of the Earth
![Picture](/uploads/1/6/4/3/16433774/619190.jpg)
This is when instead of enviornments molding humans, humans mold their enviornments. Examples of this would be the new use of irrigation to farm crops as well as the plowing of fields which resulted in the catastrophic Dust Bowl in the early 20th Century.
